The Interior Designer will be involved in all aspects of design implementation for high end residential projects. This position encompasses architectural development, new construction specifications, custom furnishings and whole house installations

 

DESIGN RESEARCH/SOURCING

·       Run implementation of all design projects and timelines

·       Design development with attention to detail

·       Source furnishings and fabric schemes with appropriate specifications as required per project

·       Sourcing of materials: Tile, Stone, Counter tops, Hardware, Plumbing Fixtures, etc.

·       Product research: construction materials through furnishings, soft goods and accessories

 

DESIGN DETAILING

·       Develop custom specifications and working drawings for furnishings, custom bedding and window treatments per Principal’ s creative lead

·       Review shop drawings and submittals from Vendors and Subcontractors

·       AutoCAD space planning with adherences to clearance requirements

·       CAD drawings (plans, elevations, cross sections) and hand sketching of all architectural details, such as but not limited to: tile patterns, cabinetry elevations, millwork details, fireplace detailing, bedding, custom drapery, etc.

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DESIGN EXECUTION

·       Manage project timelines and processes

·       Anticipate and proactively address upcoming phases of each design project

·       Collaborate and coordinate as needed with Clients, Vendors, Contractors and internal Team

·       Prepare for Client meetings and presentations as project requires 

 

INSTALLATION

·       Spearhead whole home installations

·       Attend and coordinate installations as necessary GENERAL

·       Job site supervision as needed and for field measure verification

·       Update, maintain and delegate project tasks through project management software

·       Supervise and train seasonal Interns and Design Assistants

·       Update and maintain resource library

 

 
 ·        Minimum of 5-7 years of working history and hands-on application experience within an interior design firm
·        Must be able to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines

·        Self-motivated and strong time management skills to successfully work on multiple projects

·        Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities; coordinate complex workloads and handle many details with panache

·        Must be highly organized and detail oriented with strong problem solving skills

·        Ability to think independently, develop and complete projects with limited direct supervision

·        Professional and mature communication style and the ability to interact with team at all levels; display exemplary Client service skills and display discretion and sagacity on the job

·        AutoCAD LT 2012 – High-level proficiency

·        Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel (Power Point a plus)

·        3-D Rendering, Adobe Photoshop, and Sketch-Up a plus

·        Studio Webware experience a plus

 

A car, current driver’ s license and proof of insurance is required

A Portfolio is required and should include: Working drawings, concept development and specifications demonstrating a diverse skill set from construction through furnishings

A Background check is required along with three professional references
